But when hundreds of C.M.E. members from 10 different states converge on St. Louis this weekend for a spring convocation, something else will also be on the agenda. They will honor the man who has been at the helm of the denomination's "mighty thriving" Third Episcopal District for the past eight years.

The two-day convocation held at the St. Louis Airport Hilton Hotel, 10330 Natural Bridge Rd., begins on Thursday, April 15. A Quadrennial Appreciation and Celebration will be held on April 16 for Bishop and Mrs. Paul A. G. Stewart Sr. The event is a way to say "thank you" for the efforts and accomplishments the bishop has made in the past four years.

If you visit Bishop's Stewart's private office in his home, you'll first notice the number of M&M candy memorabilia on display throughout the room. Most of the items are gifts from church members who have joined his "M&M" initiative to increase "members and ministries" in the church. Under Bishop's Stewart's leadership, several new churches have been built, others have been restored, and many new pastors have been developed.
