WATCH: "Morning Joe" Goes Off on Obama and White House for 'Firing Black Woman' and 'Throwing her to the Wolves' in a Rush to Judgment; USDA Reconsiders

sherrod-MJoe.jpgShirley Sherrod says she was called while she was driving by an Agriculture Department superior and asked to pull over and "text" a resignation in a hurry because she was going to be featured "on Glenn Beck tonight."

But in trying to avoid one cable host, the White House and Department of Agriculture have instead attracted widespread scorn for firing a woman based on a brief video clip that was edited to be misleading.

"Seriously? They're scared of the guy with the chalkboard?" said Joe Scarborough on MSNBC's "Morning Joe."

"You would assume the Obama administration wouldn't fire someone without having the full story," he said, adding that if the same group that fired Sherrod is negotiating with Iran, "we're screwed."

Each of the three major cable morning news shows dedicated much of its time to the story, bringing on one guest after another to ding the White House. And Sherrod appeared on CNN, as well as NBC's "Today Show," Wednesday morning to tell her story.
